I installed a 3.35 Ultima open primary on my 2006 FXST.The problem is that there is a lot of noise coming from the clutch. It sounds if there are loose or broken parts in there. The clutch adjusts and works fine. There is no noise when the clutch lever is pulled in or when I'm riding it,only in neutral.I've taken it apart several times, checking that the discs are in correctly.Everything is correct. Is it the disc's themselves,do I have to get better ones,or is this the way is usually sounds?Need to know,it's enough to piss me off!

I suggest you not ride the bike. It is about to blow the clutch apart and the shrapnell could blow off the lower part of your leg. You would also loose your foot and all its toes as well. This might be a good time to offload that bike while it is still running. There is one way that usually works to keep the clutches cooled off enough to drive the bike safely, and that is to poor liquid glue on the clutch while the bike is running to make sure it gets worked into the plates real good. This must be repeated once a week or every 200 miles.

You haven't run an old pan or knuck clutch or you would have heard this b4. I have a 2" Ultima belt primary. The Ultima runs plain steel plates... no antie-rattlers mounted on the steel plates. This lets the clutch pack rattle back and forth when there is no load on the clutch (neutral?). Nothing to worry about. Just hot rod harley stuff. I don't know of anybody making clutch steel plates to make it quieter. Shoot, makes all the girls turn around wondering what the hell is going on.
