I have a 87 FXLR with a 93" S&S motor, crane hi 4 ignition.Over the last few weeks it has become increasingly harder to start and finally fried the battery.A tech at the HD dealership says I need a new starter solenoid.I asked him about a spyke starter and he says not worth the money that the Evo starter is fine.Any opinions?

wouldnt give you a plugged nickel for that *** starter, they get hot and wont work dont crank as fast as a stock starter and they wont return your money when you cant make the thing work. I know a few other builders that have the same problems with them stay away from spyke. hell I have a brand new all chrome  starter all swoopy  stealth model  it sent it back to spyle and they went through it and I never put it back on too much trouble to switch cause I had already put a stock one on and it was working, sell it to you for 150.00 like I said brand new
