We would like to put Rush 2" slip on mufflers on a 2009 Sportster 1200 Low. One harley mechanic said that it requires the addtion of an air cleaner kit and remapping the carburater. Another harley mechanic said that is not necessory, you can just install the mufflers without any further work. So which it? I'm a little confused as to what to do. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

Put the pipes on you will be fine but you won't get much more then noise. With a high flow filter and a PC or other fuel enrichment you will see an increase in HP. You just want noise or more zip?

He'll be fine but you forgot to add that he'll most likely LOSE some torque & hp by just adding them and not doing what you recommended to him.
