New on this site. Hello to all.
Not an engine builder, but know enough to be dangerous. Have a bagger, twincam with a 113". Ride 2 up and looking for decent low end grunt. Looking at a S&S .570 or a Dave Mackie .590. CR will be 10.3 static and 9.45 corrected. I know S&S says don't run the .570 over 10.0. With a tight squish and cranking comp of 195, can I get away with the .570? Or would the .590 be better? The .590 closes the intake 2 deg later and has about the same cranking comp. duration is a little longer on the .590. Any help? Thanks.
