what would be a better choice considering the economic issues?? what bike will last longer as far keeping the bike maintained...Are they equally matched or is there a bigger risk in buying a street bike??

I can only tell you I own both a streetbike(97 triumph daytona) and a Harley(03 night train). I have had the Daytona for about 6 years and had the bare minimum of problems. I've had the Harley for only 2 and had no problems. The maintenance runs about the same price, unless you take the Harley to the dealer. They will take you to the cleaners.

I am looking at getting a bike after a 25 year lay off. Can anyone give me reasons on why I should buy a HD over other bikes?
Also, why would I ever consider buying a new one when dealers and indivuals are selling them so cheaply? Thanks!
