I have a 06' Sportster 1200C and I want to extend the wires and run them through the bars. My question is, what is the gage of the wires? Also, does anyone know where would be a good Place to pick some extra up, I need around 35" for each wire.  

The wires are 18gauge, and you should be able to find a couple of rolls of it at your local auo parts store...  

i am fixing to do sort of the same thing;putting on 16 inch apes on my 08 fatboy.i read an article today on extentions-supposedly you run your stock wires back, follow them to where both sides go past the gas tank and plug into the main harness. now they say they make various length wire extentions with correct plugs on bth ends. so, you unplug wires out of main harness and pull out of handle bars.change bars thread back thru new handlebars an then plug into extentionan then plug other end of extention in to main harness. no cuttin no mess. this company builds these in different sizes but i dont see why we cant do the same. no cuttin an no sodderin. an they want 1400$dollars to do this for me at the local harley shop!
