I've got a 5/16 hose, located under my seat, which goes nowhere and seems to be coming from the crankcase. Everytime I open the bike, or ride it hard, it blows oil all over the place.

At first I thought it was an issue of too much oil. I've dropped the oil level and it still does it, mind you I have less oil spilling.

Logistically it makes no sense for this to be a normal thing.

Could the hose be a breather hose? What's causing oil to come through it? How do i fix the problem?

Thanks
Balázs

Hi there, welcome to the forum

If that is the breather hose, and it just started to blow oil, then maybe the motor is telling you it's time for a freshening up.
Blow-by is caused when compression gets past worn rings and caues crankcase pressure. this pressure is relieved thru the breather hose and normally takes oil mist with it. the mist collects in the hose to become a drip, a lot of drips become a big oil leak out the hose. All this is based on wether this is the breather hose, which it sounds like it is. There are companies out there that sell filters that collect that oil, but if it didnt blow oil before, and it does now, then there is a problem that needs to be fixed.

Get a shop manual secific to your bike and start reading. You will save that money many times over when you start fixing it yourself. And keep on asking questions here, the book wont always tell you everything.
