removing compensating nut 82 fxr

how thw hell do you get the compensating sprocket nut off an 82 fxr when there is broken welds on the cover and a 1/4 in or so play, and the cam keeps sliping. tried and impact, may i need to use a larger one?

Try heating ithe nut with a buetane torch first and then a 3/4 impact gun should come off!
