I purchased my 06' sporty with the following changes, 1" risers and a set of Harley Davidson Mini Apes (33.75 width, 10.5 rise and 7.25 pull), I want to go higher but do not want to make the mistake of buying bars and not liking the feel of them. I would like to go with a set of Mammoth Choppers "Great Apes" (37" width, 18" rise, and 11" pull.) What I would like to know is there a way I figure out how this going to feel when I am on riding. Does anyone know of a good way to accomplish this.

Prepare to catch some bugs in your armpits.  That is quite a reach for someone like myself.  I am more of a drag bar kinda guy so I would just have to say, stop in the local dealers and see if anything comes close to that size and try it out.

Good luck

BTW:  I just got my 06 sporty.  Chopper blue, forward controls, drag bars, quick release windshield and bags, vance and hines pipes (no baffles.)  Flame pegs and grips.  Pretty nice for a sporty  Screamin' Eagle;>

some dealers have a mock up bike for people to figure out what is more comfortable for them. like bars or fott controls position. or you could mock up a peice of metal electrical conduit pipe to your dimensions and stick it in your risers or just sort of hold it on your risers with a piece of cloth to protect the chrome on your bike. hope this helps
