I installed a 127 in a 94 FLHTCU and have run 9500 miles. i run amsoil 20-50 with an oil cooler. i also pull atrailer. the hottest the oil has ever gotten was about 210. that was at 95 degrees outside temp. very happy with motor until lately. roller cracked and took out the cam, lifters, and oil pump. still waiting to get it back together.

Does anyone have any suggestions how to remove a lifter guide that won't budge? I have a bad lifter I need to replace that is stuck in the down position. I'm worried I may have more damage. Any help or suggestions appreciated.
I've got a El Bruto 127 with similar issues. Rocker arm slapped top, and have a bad lifter(rear intake). Wanted to pull and inspect the lifter before I go any further, and open the cam cover. But I can't get the lifter guide to move to remove it, I'm about to take a sledge hammer and crow-bar to it.
Norcal newbie(first build).

Hi there, I got a couple things to throw in here, I know this thread is about Ultima motors, the heat issue and other problems, but in the very first post, it was mentioned he is replacing the RevTech motor. I have a 100" RevTech in my BMC with over 20k miles on the original motor, starter, tranny etc. I cruise alot but do give it abuse on a regular basis. I added compression releases at approx 4k miles and this is what I feel has saved my starter, and battery.
Does Ultima come with compression releases??? if not maybe this can help save a starter or two out there.
The belt does jump when I nail the throttle wide open, so eventually I want to go with a chain. and that is with a 100" motor, I gotta believe the 113" and 127" will do the same.

I have a mainseal leak from my Ultima 127. I bought a bike with only 400 miles on it and it is dripping when it runs out of the main seal. I have a Ultima open drag style primary. The seller told me that they replaced it once already and said the shops using these motors say the big ones have leaky primarys and to get used to it. I want to know if this is a common failing or if I can have the seal replaced "Right" and have it no longer get oil on me and the bike when riding. Anyone else out there have a 127 that does not leak? 9I am not talking about a little dotted sweat on the seam but a drip. It is also blowing oil from the valve cover. I tightened but did not want to strip and it still is leaking there. Do I need to replace the gasket?

I have the 127" El Bruto motor and have the same noise coming from the front cylinder. Sounds like a piston or possibly the intake valve. It has seemed to be better(not as loud) after the break in period. It also seemed to be better once I tuned the timing back to the lowest recc. advance, at about 25 degrees. The only other issue I've had was a bad ultima lifter that siezed then imploded with the guide block on the rear cylinder. Replaced the lifters and havn't had any issues since. Motor is strong and ridiculously fast.

I have had a 113"Bruto Motor Ran it hard after the first 200 miles No problems and it was in a bagger. It had 4500 miles on it when i sold it.The person i sold it to is still running it to this day the only problem he had was a head gasket and that was rider error never warmed up the bike.I then bought the 127"i have around 1900 miles on it and it runs great and i ride it very hard i live in the Central Valley of Ca,and in the summer it's stay from 90 to 105 daily, overheats never.i run Royal Purple in it and i have a oil cooler.I added a K@N 9" air filter had it dyno at 129 ftlbs and 130torque.I am looking for a lil more horse power out of it.I ran it at the track this weekend ran a 11.1 at 127mph.Its a pretty good motor. It doesn't like to be babied.Ride it!!!
